The Nova Bar

Overview
Overview
Nova Bar was a freelance brand and packaging project for a galaxy-themed cocktail bar. I built the visual system and a set of collectible drink cards that work as the menu. The concept was simple: you don’t walk in and get a list. You walk in and open an envelope. Inside is a card. Some are common, some are rare, some you only get by trading with other people or winning them in bar activities. Each card has a limited number of uses, so the drink becomes something you collect, spend, and remember.

The Ask
Give the bar a world people want to enter, and replace a standard drinks list with an object that feels exclusive, social, and worth keeping.
Insight
Nightlife already runs on limited drops, status, and “you had to be there.” People collect, trade, and show off what they got. A menu can work the same way if it stops being paper and starts being a card you pull from a pack.
The Big Idea
The menu is a sealed pack.
Guests receive an envelope at the door. Inside is one cocktail card from the Nova deck. Rarity changes the experience: common pours, exclusive recipes, cards you trade across tables, cards you earn in bar games. Every card has a use limit, so ordering is also spending a piece of the collection. The brand lives on the table, in someone’s hand, and in the trade between strangers.
